🚔 Worksop North Beat Team Update 🚴♀️
Today, Thursday 17th April 2025, the Worksop North beat team carried out patrols in Worksop town centre on pedal cycles, working to ensure the safety and well-being of our community.
Here are some key incidents from today’s patrols:
• E-Scooter Seized: While on Bridge Street, officers encountered a male riding an e-scooter who failed to stop when requested. The rider was detained shortly after on Ryton Street, and the e-scooter was seized. A reminder to all: e-scooters are classified as motor vehicles under the Road Traffic Act 1988, meaning they require a licence, insurance, and tax. For more information, visit https://orlo.uk/ZIG1j
• Shop Theft Charges: Officers located a 44-year-old man wanted in connection with several shop thefts in Worksop. The suspect has now been charged with seven thefts and remanded to court.
• Ongoing Shoplifting Investigation: Later in the afternoon, two known shoplifters were spotted stealing from a shop. While they made off, one suspect fled in a waiting car and has been positively identified along with the driver. The other suspect who walked away has also been identified. All three suspects are outstanding for multiple shop thefts, and efforts are underway to locate them.
The car was located at an address in the Manton area and seized.
• Disturbance at Savoy Cinema: This evening, officers detained several teenage boys following a disturbance at the Savoy Cinema. The individuals have been identified, and their parents are fully supporting the ongoing processing of the incident.
Nottinghamshire Police remains committed to tackling crime, anti-social behaviour and keeping the community safe. Thank you for your continued support as we work together for a better Worksop.
