Police detained a suspected burglar within four minutes of a call from a concerned member of the public. Officers were called at 10.10pm yesterday (Sunday) to Dukeries Crescent, Worksop, after a man was reported trying to get inside a house. A suspect was detained a short time later in the back garden of the property and a shovel was recovered from the scene. Yesterday (22nd January), Officers were made aware of 3 males stealing from a shop in Langold. Neighbourhood and Response Officers made their way to the area and tracked down the vehicle the males were traveling in and brought it to a stop, recovering all the items the suspects had taken. Police are appealing for witnesses after two teenagers were robbed of their belongings on Christmas Day. The incident happened in Gateford Road in Worksop at the rear of the Romans Rest pub just after 4.15pm. Two unknown men riding a blue motorbike wearing balaclavas and helmets demanded the two boys hand over their bags. One of the men also threatened the boys with a knife.
